For those of you who’ve been with us for a few years, you may remember that CASBO was honored to become a founding sponsor of the public television series, “Inside California Education,” back in 2019. This award-winning TV series airs on PBS stations across the state.

The show features compelling stories that educate the public about key issues, challenges and successes in our public schools by highlighting students, staff and local communities and partners.

Broadcasting from California’s capital, “Inside California Education” is produced by PBS KVIE and researches and produces program segments all over California. From small rural districts to big city schools, the program’s team of reporters travels the state to tell stories about education which most viewers have never heard.

New episodes are now available, one of which includes a look at how Rocklin Unified School District is meeting the school bus driver shortage in Placer County. It features Director of Transportation Matt Sanchez, who serves as immediate past chair of CASBO’s Transportation Professional Council, as well as several recent bus driver trainees. Congratulations to Matt and his team at Rocklin Unified; we’re proud to have you as an organizational subscriber and a member of our leadership team!

Since its premiere in 2015, “Inside California Education” has been carried by every PBS member station in California from Eureka to San Diego, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, San Bernardino and Redding. Major sponsors include the California Lottery, Stuart Foundation and ScholarShare. For a complete list of stations and airtimes, view the schedule.
