Today’s Chief Business Officials are expected to balance aging infrastructure, capital funding, enrollment shifts, community expectations, and long-term financial stewardship, all while making decisions that shape the future of their districts for decades.

The Facilities Executive Certificate for CBOs is an advanced, cohort-based learning experience designed specifically for district leaders responsible for facilities, operations, and capital planning. Through a series of live virtual and in-person sessions centered around a comprehensive district case study, participants will work through realistic executive-level challenges involving modernization, deferred maintenance, debt financing, governance, political decision-making, and community engagement. Throughout the program, participants will learn from experienced facilities leaders and collaborate with peers facing similar challenges across California.

Program Format:

Hybrid Cohort with live in-person and virtual instruction

Program Access Information:

Participants attend six live sessions throughout the program. Virtual sessions are delivered live online, and two in-person sessions.

Please note: Sessions are not recorded, and make-up assignments are not available. Live attendance and participation are required for all sessions.

Travel and lodging for the in-person program dates are not included in the registration fee.

Associate Member Conference Attendance Policy

Purpose To ensure a fair and consistent experience for all participants at CASBO conferences and to maintain the value of sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities for associate members.

Policy Statement Associate Members who are not exhibiting or sponsoring at a CASBO conference are not permitted to attend the event as regular attendees.

Details

  • Conference attendance for Associate Members is considered a benefit tied to active participation as an exhibitor or sponsor.
  • Only Associate Member firms with a confirmed exhibit booth or paid sponsorship are eligible to register representatives for conference access.
  • Associate Members without an exhibit or sponsorship may not:
    • Purchase or obtain standard attendee registrations
    • Access sessions, meals, networking events, or the exhibit hall
    • Attend on behalf of or in partnership with another exhibiting or sponsoring organization
  • This policy ensures equitable opportunities for participating partners and protects the value of conference engagement offerings.

Exceptions Any exceptions to this policy must be reviewed and approved in advance by CASBO leadership.

Enforcement CASBO reserves the right to:

  • Deny registration requests that do not meet the eligibility requirements
  • Remove individuals from the event who attend in violation of this policy
  • Revoke or limit membership privileges for repeated violations
