The Executive Assistant Micro-Certificate is designed to help executive assistants, administrative professionals, and school business support staff strengthen the practical skills, communication strategies, and organizational knowledge needed to effectively support school business leadership teams. Through a flexible, self-paced online learning experience, participants will gain confidence navigating school district operations while developing the professional skills essential to supporting CBOs, department directors, and executive teams.

This focused micro-certificate program explores the core responsibilities and collaborative functions that support effective school business operations, including administrative coordination, communication, meeting management, event logistics, budgeting support, confidentiality, and professional professionalism in educational environments. Participants will gain practical tools and real-world insights that can be immediately applied within their districts and departments.

Ideal for Executive Assistants, Administrative Professionals, School Business Office Secretaries, Analysts, new hires, and other roles that directly support CBOs and Department Directors, this program provides foundational and practical learning tailored specifically to the unique demands of school business administration.

Delivered through CASBO’s self-paced SBU platform, the program combines online learning modules, peer discussion boards, knowledge checks, and reflection activities to create an engaging and flexible professional development experience. Participants will learn from experienced Executive Assistants, Chief Business Officials, and school business leaders from districts across California.

  • Financial success using budget monitoring and development best practices.
  • Professional communication to liaise with key stakeholders, uphold confidentiality, and project professionalism.

What You Will Earn:

Participants who successfully complete approximately 6 hours of self-paced online learning modules, knowledge checks, peer discussion activities, and the course evaluation will earn:

  • 6 CEUs
  • A verified CASBO Executive Assistant Micro-Certificate

This printable credential can be shared with supervisors, colleagues, friends, and professional networks to demonstrate your commitment to student success and excellence in school business operations.

Plus, earn a digital badge to share on your email signature and social media accounts. Badges will be issued approximately 2 weeks from the close date of the program.

Associate Member Conference Attendance Policy

Purpose To ensure a fair and consistent experience for all participants at CASBO conferences and to maintain the value of sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities for associate members.

Policy Statement Associate Members who are not exhibiting or sponsoring at a CASBO conference are not permitted to attend the event as regular attendees.

Details

  • Conference attendance for Associate Members is considered a benefit tied to active participation as an exhibitor or sponsor.
  • Only Associate Member firms with a confirmed exhibit booth or paid sponsorship are eligible to register representatives for conference access.
  • Associate Members without an exhibit or sponsorship may not:
    • Purchase or obtain standard attendee registrations
    • Access sessions, meals, networking events, or the exhibit hall
    • Attend on behalf of or in partnership with another exhibiting or sponsoring organization
  • This policy ensures equitable opportunities for participating partners and protects the value of conference engagement offerings.

Exceptions Any exceptions to this policy must be reviewed and approved in advance by CASBO leadership.

Enforcement CASBO reserves the right to:

  • Deny registration requests that do not meet the eligibility requirements
  • Remove individuals from the event who attend in violation of this policy
  • Revoke or limit membership privileges for repeated violations
