CASBO’s Facilities Executive Certificate for CBOs is designed for Chief Business Officials and district leaders directly responsible for facilities, operations and capital planning.

This hybrid, cohort-based program delivers 25 hours of live instruction through in-person and virtual sessions focused on the real-world challenges of California school facilities leadership. Through an interactive case study, you’ll navigate deferred maintenance, modernization priorities, enrollment shifts, funding limitations, debt financing, governance dynamics and community expectations.

Space is limited to 30 participants to maximize peer interaction and instructor engagement.

Participants earn 25 CEUs upon completion, which may be applied toward CBO recertification.

What you’ll learn:

Over six live sessions, you’ll engage in a case-based learning experience designed to help you:

  • Align facilities stewardship with district goals, capital needs and community expectations.
  • Analyze capital master planning, design priorities and modernization challenges.
  • Understand debt financing, capital pacing and cash flow strategy.
  • Evaluate project delivery models, funding options and capital stewardship responsibilities.
  • Lead through change, governance complexity and political pressure.
  • Synthesize facilities data, fiscal realities and stakeholder priorities into executive-level recommendations.
  • Communicate capital funding decisions clearly to boards, communities and district partners.

Note: All sessions require live attendance and participation. Sessions are not recorded, and make-up work is not available.
