Over five weeks, you’ll engage in a cohort-based learning experience designed to empower you to develop practical, real-world skills on:
- Design and manage legally compliant, goal-aligned budgets that reflect your LEA’s strategic priorities and involve collaborative input from key stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate accounting and auditing with strong internal controls and reporting.
- Lead and evaluate staff effectively with sound supervision, evaluation, and cross-training.
- Optimize financial systems and data security through smart tech use and staff training.
- Communicate financial information clearly and credibly to diverse audiences, incorporating feedback and explaining fiscal impacts of decisions.
- Ensure ethical compliance with school finance laws by understanding and applying relevant codes, policies, and professional standards.
- Grow leadership capacity to drive strategic, organization-wide initiatives.
- Plan and manage school business projects strategically by coordinating resources, mitigating risks, and aligning outcomes with LEA objectives.
- Interpret and influence collective bargaining agreements by analyzing financial impacts of labor negotiations to support sustainable staffing and budgeting.
- Oversee procurement and asset management with legal compliance and transparency.
