When it comes to the California K-12 education marketplace, the California School Business Expo at the CASBO Annual Conference tops all others.

The Expo is the largest trade show of its kind in the state, and in 2021, we took our largest single gathering of California school business officials to the online marketplace!

Want to present a workshop at Annual Conference? Read on!

Open the door to California’s largest network of school business professionals.

If you have an idea for an educational topic that you know will engage members and non-members alike, enhance their professional development and add value to our Annual Conference, then we want to hear from you!


Step 1: Beginning in approximately May of each year, members of CASBO’s 15 professional councils independently solicit presentation proposals.

Step 2: In approximately early June of each year, we send out via email our Request for Proposals to solicit additional presentations from our partners and associate members. Our RFP announcement includes our Workshop Proposal Requirements and Instructions, and Workshop Proposal Form 5a, which must be completed and submitted. Proposals are usually due by 5:00 p.m. on June 30. To participate in the selection process at this stage, you must at minimum be a current CASBO associate member.

Step 3: In early July, CASBO professional councils review all proposals submitted pursuant to Steps 1 & 2 above and make their selections.

Step 4: In mid- to late summer, if we determine that more presentations are needed for our conference lineup, we send out an “open call” RFP to solicit additional workshop presentations. This RFP announcement includes our Open Call Workshop Proposal Requirements, Instructions and Workshop Proposal Form 5, which must be completed and submitted. To participate in the selection process at this stage, you must be a current CASBO member of any type.

Step 5: In September, CASBO’s Annual Conference Committee reviews all open-call proposals submitted pursuant to Step 4 above and makes its selections.

  • The RFP process for 2022 is now closed. Associate member workshop proposals are usually due by June 30 each year.
  • Open-call workshop proposals (if needed) are usually due by August 30 each year.
  • For 2022, if your workshop proposal is accepted, we will send you a final speaker confirmation email by January 21, 2022. You must be ready to confirm your speakers by the date requested in that email.
  • For 2022, final presentation materials will be due March 11, 2022.

Proposed presentation content must be unbiased, informational and non-sales oriented. Initial proposals can be general and conceptual in nature.
