Standardized Account Code Structure: Advanced Concepts 5/28/26

Date:

Take your understanding of the Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS) to the next level in this advanced workshop designed for school business professionals who prepare, analyze, and use SACS data to support decision-making, reporting, and compliance. Building on the foundational concepts covered in SACS: Basic Concepts, this course explores the broader implications of SACS coding and how financial data is used across complex reporting and management applications.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how everyday transaction coding impacts compliance, fiscal reporting, program cost accounting, indirect cost calculations, maintenance of effort requirements, and government-wide financial reporting. The workshop will also review recent and upcoming accounting standard changes, along with selected features of SACS financial reporting software that can support more effective financial analysis and reporting practices.

Designed to help participants move beyond transactional coding into strategic financial understanding, this workshop provides practical tools and insights for presenting SACS budgetary and financial information in meaningful ways that support informed decision-making and organizational transparency.

Ideal for school business officials and staff who regularly work with SACS data, this course is best suited for individuals with prior SACS experience or those who have recently completed a foundational or refresher course.
