Our Payroll Essentials Program is an intensive two-and-a-half-day training event that’s designed for current and aspiring school business professionals working in the discipline of payroll who want to get first-rate payroll skills or even go the distance to become CASBO-certified. With this training, you’ll become proficient in your understanding of payroll-related computation from gross to net; federal, state and local statutes, rules and regulations; education code, labor law and tax administration; and retirement systems requirements.

Fees are:

$1,185 for CASBO Organizational Subscriber Employee Members

$1,335 for Non-Members. 

Registration includes final exam and CEUs.

Participants will need to have access to a computer and have access to Excel. All materials will be distributed electronically.

Attend Payroll Essentials, and in topics comprising 25 continuing education units, you’ll learn:
  1. Computation from gross to net;
  2. Federal, state and local statutes, rules and regulations;
  3. Education code, labor law and tax administration; and
  4. Retirement systems requirements.

To be a successful program participant, registrants should know how to do the following before they enroll:
  1. Create & format worksheets/workbooks
  2. Insert data in & be able to format cells/ranges
  3. Order & group cells/ranges
  4. Create & modify/filter & sort a table
  5. Use cell ranges & references in formulas/functions
  6. Summarize data with functions
  7. Use conditional logic in functions
  8. Format & modify text with functions
  9. Create & format a chart
  10. Insert & format an object

After training concludes, attendees must also pass an open-book skills assessment test with a minimum grade of 70% to receive their certificate of completion.
