When the Budget Act of 2024 was signed, it lacked funding for K-14 education facilities. Instead, the administration is relying on a bond measure to address the urgent needs for new construction, modernization, and repairs. We need your help to ensure our schools get the necessary funding—join us in supporting this crucial ballot measure!

The Assembly introduced AB 247 Education finance:  school facilities: Transitional Kindergarten Through Community College Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 2024. The bill passed the legislature with an urgency clause and was signed by the acting governor, Pro Tempore Mike McGuire, to ensure its presence on the November ballot. In November, voters will be seeing this facilities bond as Proposition 2, the $10 billion Kindergarten Through Grade 12 Schools and Local Community College Public Education Facilities Modernization, Repair, and Safety Bond Act of 2024.

As November 5th approaches, we urge our communities and members to vote on this crucial ballot measure. In an effort to raise awareness about the benefits of the bond, we ask your school board to support and sign the Prop 2 Resolution showcasing their backing for the only funding mechanism available for K-14 school facilities throughout the state.

Below are some resources to be shared with the community members, school board members, and any other stakeholders:

Upon approval of the Resolution, please share it with the Prop 2 campaign or Aileen Dalen (adalen@m-w-h.com) to ensure your support is recorded.
